I am capturing my desktop in order to broadcast PC games that I play in full screen, I can see the desktop and all activity fine. However when I start the game, and it goes into fullscreen mode my capture device will not recognize the game, it just shows a black screen. Audio still works perfectly.
Any ideas on what's going wrong?

I think I had to do with your video overlay. and full screen.
you need to try to run the program in window mode..
yahoo is your friend for this one..
also try to Google dxwnd. Force almost anything into a windowed mode « Appaholic
.I know It would work in a virtual machine like VM ware.
search the forums.. this topic has been talk about..

this is how i set up my Set up VHScrCap
Run Start Menu\Hmelyoff\VHScrCap\Config.exe
Select "Create new one"
Click Settings, Frame rate to 30, only have Align Video, Show mouse, Show clicks checked, nothing else (for full resolution)
Click Capture, Do not click any boxes, click Select, click the window desktop of the monitor with your game
Close the VH Screen Capture Driver dialog
. make sure you have up to date drivers with your video card.
I think i've narrowed it down to being the 'capture layered windows' option

Hi, no I still can't record anything in fullscreen, ive tried all the options and combinations in vhscrap i can think of. Only the games that support window mode in the video game options are working, and the only game I own that does, is glitching in window mode, looks great until it happens though. some software/driver issue i suppose.
I tried the program you suggested, and yes it is putting games in window mode, thanks. but with some issues, like I cant get out of the window again after i've started the game, so I can't set up anything to stream and crop the window OS out of it. still handy though so thanks for that.
im giving up, ive been trying for days and days, i was hoping this would be more straightforward ... I think i have a good setup for this, but I just cant get it to work. thanks for the help.

Do not give up. :(
One other thing you can try is to run the game in VMware . (virtual machine)
