First off, this might sound like a rant(part of it is), but i love JTV, and realise they have no other option.

BUT.......I find it quite crafty how "illegal sport streams" or "copyright material" JTV openly make money off back of them, then have cheek to slag off us.

Now we all know, these small countries, attract ALOT of viewers for sport streams, and with this new "viewer limit" in place, many are forced to buy "pro accounts". Thats money going into JTV pockets for "illegal streams".

You full know well many do this in the thinking these streams will stay open and they can then watch the streams they want(mostly illegal streams) from then on in.

I realise JTV has been under alot of heat from Football copyright owners, so fair you don't want to be sued.

I alsovery much grateful you ONLY close these down if copyright holder himself reports them, thats what i call common sense.

Lets not beat around the bush, reason JTV is the biggest & best is due to all these "illegal streams", the channels that attract huge numbers are live streams on sport or tv etc...

Also recently with this new system in place that auto shutdowns certain content from certain sports or companys, in the new fingerprint watermark thing.

Why not let us know who is actually in that, so we do not stream that stuff. At moment it is total guess who is useing it, if you made it clear what companys have there content protected, save us alot of hassle.

It is not illegal to stream sports or any content like it, only becomes illegal if copyright holder does not want it broadcasted.

But you also know, many channels or sports encourage these "illegal" streams, and manysports are openly allowed to stream. And JTV make alot of money via these with pro accounts.

As it stands things are too black n white, as is say JTV is what it is due to us sport streamers.

Otherwise what is point of having sections for sports, do you honestly think someone will stream a "football" game from his back garden. These sections are there for a reason.

Why not instead of kicking the people who made you big, why not make it clear what is ok and what is not so ok.

Otherwise you will be left with nothing. JTV is not good for anything else(for majority of us).

Social streams.........This is a area you need to crack down on, streams of kids under 16, being asked to strip and do stuff on camera, and you openly allow it.

JTV is getting a image because of this, it is a breeding ground for dodgy people.

Rant aside, JTV is still the best around, all though servers have sucked slightly last month or so, i realise most of hassle you get is nothing you can do about. But as i say make it more clearer who is in this new finger print system.

JTV does not supply the Pro account for purchase so you can watch illegal content, that is a choice you make yourself , to watch a channel that at anytime could be removed of breach of DMCA or TOS

Justin.TV was never intended to be used as a way to broadcast movies/tv shows/sports/etc that is copyrighted. It has been abused since a few weeks after JTV went public in Oct. 2007. It was built as a way to communicate to the world by live video and chat. 'Lifecasting' was how the site was founded after all.

As far as kids streaming who are 16 or minors in general, the current site age limit to broadcast is 13. We try to help as many of these underage users as possible by browsing the current casts, but we also need help from users like you who can simply report the channel with the report button and or send a admin a message or IM when its clear a underage broadcaster needs help with a out of control chat. No one wants to see this happen and when I see it I take action to help the user. Parental supervision is also key here with users using justin.tv or any site on the internet. As far as the broadcasting of illegal sports streams I understand what you are saying, but the fact still remains that justin.tv is fully dmca compliant and they do all they can to shutdown channels when requested by the copyrighted owner. Just my personal opinion

I understand that Wayne, and im glad you can see where im coming from, as stated above i realise you have to comply with the DMCA.

Certain sports welcome the coverage, like Darts & Snooker it seems fine to stream(i stream neither), i personaly only stream once or twice a week.

I stream content i know won't get pulled, and content i enjoy watching & helps others.

I.E content they can't get legally in there own country anyway, and thats vice versa for me.

Not all is done because people don't want to pay a subscription to a company, some have no option to watch certain stuff, and these streams are only way.

Just one final point regarding the social streams & under 16's. It would help a great deal if people have to confirm e-mail before useing the JTV chat function. At the current moment someone can create a account in seconds and abuse the chat service.

Spam & racism is a big problem for me on chats, banning them is pointless as 10 seconds later a new account is back.

Anyway thanks for reply.:)

It's a no win situation. I was banned once for streaming Formula 1 via the BBC Red Butten. Although the BBC has exclusive rights and had paid for it to broadcast it themself. And that money to be able to pay for it came from Licence fee Payers such as myself here. You should know it is illegal and you should always know weather something is copyrighted or not.

But in my case, I did not know that formula 1 was copyrighted as after all, I was a licence fee payer. It wasn't until a few weeks after I had gotten banned that the BBC started to issue a copyright notice at the start of each of their Formula 1 broadcasts.

Take those people broadcasting pay per view wrestling matches events. Now you can't say you didn't know that that was copyrighted even though with the way it was broadcasted and the fact that you "the viewer" had to pay a fee to be able to watch it in the first place. You just can't act all dumb and make up excuses that you didn't know. Because you are knowenly lieing.

Totally wrong, the problem is it's not that straight forward. Some stuff is allowed to be streamed, likes movies are fine, they get shut down odd time, but fact is same ones appear everyday showing latest films. Certain sports are fine to stream.

I pay for to watch that sport, and i should be able to stream it for FREE to others, unless copyright holder says otherwise.

Thats problem, if JTV made it clear who does not want there content showing, then be much easier.

No one is acting a dumb, but downloading music is illegal, but millions do it. Don't make out this crime is sick, people just bend the laws.

By clicking Start Broadcast, you agree: I) to abide by the terms of service and II) that your broadcast consists only of your own content or content you are authorized to broadcast.

Take those people broadcasting pay per view wrestling matches events.

People with a pro account are not paying to see "the game" . If so your in the wrong place. You need to go pay for skynet , or a company that has rights to do so,
