Hi, I'm an user of Justin.tv and I'm from Italy. I always used this excellent website, the best in streaming, and I never had problems with it. I usually broadcast with a pass code and copy the embed of the channel in my website. In the embed code I put the variable - publisherGuard=PASSWORD - to incorporate the pass code. But recently it doesn' t work... Why? Can you help me, please?

If you go into your settings of your channel, you should be able to set an Access Code (If you are 18+)

Yes, but I want to know how to put the pass code in the embed, so it doesn't need you insert pass manually...

What he means is he wants the embed to carry on the password so people watching the embed dont have to enter the password...

I'm not sure that, that can be done.
And I think it's mainly because it's a way to keep people from using Justin.tv to stream media that is copyrighted or not allowed by Justin.tv rules, like pornography.
Most people that wish to password their channels do it either because it's a private channel for friends and family or it's because they are broadcasting content which is against the Justin.tv TOS. So, they make the embed carry the need for a password so that you can't just link the content to your own site and broadcast media which isn't allowed by the Terms of Service.
You aren't trying to broadcast media that is against the TOS are you?
Hi Majishine
We are looking to do just this.
We run a tabletop gaming blog and are doing public live shows more and more.
However we would love from time to time to do a live show just for the subscribers of the blog.
Being able to embed the player and have a private show for them would be great.
Rather than passing the password to 10,000 members finding away to unlock the video in the embed code would be much easier :o)
Can this be done using the Javascript API?
Cheers!

it can certainly be done.
i suggest looking at the POST and GET information from your browser.
you can use WireShark also.
sorry, i wont provide further specific details, dont ask why either.

You could effectively do the same thing without messing with the API. In your channel settings, leave the access code blank, and use the option to remove the channel from the directory.
Perhaps you have broadcasted on JTV and have picked up some followers, but want to broadcast these "private" shows to only your blog subscribers, and don’t want your JTV followers to know? In that case, you could make another channel, remove it from the directory right from the start and use it on your blog.
