Hello, trying to stream music threw channel tho im having troubles since i got vista and don't wanna format to xp cause this small problem as i don't wanna lose everything i have and take weeks to get back, im sure many would understand that. I read dylanlive's tutorial and great tutorial tho no information based on vista as could read.

For Windows XP:
Guys and girls you don't have to purchase anything to record streaming audio and be able to play music in chat without using the mic. you just need to activate "stereo mix." Follow this path (in windows): start, control panel, sounds and audio devices, audio, volume (second down), options, properties, check stereo mix, ok, select stereo mix. Now the audio to whatever you're playing can be streamed, music, videos, whatever.
"BUT MY THERE IS NO STEREO MIX OPTION TO ENABLE!" That doesn't surprise me--my version of windows didn't have it as well. It was removed from some versions, most likely to prevent copyright violations. Anyway, you can activate "stereo mix" by making a few simple changes in your computer registry.
The following is very easy to do:
Cick on start, run, type regedit, ok, then go to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ .
Then click view click find an copy an paste {4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} in to the search field and click find it will take u right to the one u need; then look for the folder with the plus sign next to them an expand till u see Settings\filter\rear then follow these directions:
Right click on rear & add new binary value, name it DigitalInputMonitor, after creating this value, add the binary value of 01 by right clicking on this new value. Next, right click again on rear and add new binary value, and name it DigitalStereoMix, then right click on this new value and add a binary value of 01.
After adding these two new registrys, there should be 2 already existing values in the list that need to be changed.....the first one MasterControlsIndipendentMixerInputs; the binary value of this value needs to be changed from 01 to 00 and EnableInputMonitor needs to be changed from 00 to 01...after all this is done restart the pc and stereo mix should be shown as an option (follow the path on top to check).
Simple, right? Now you should be able to record streaming audio and be able to play music in chat without using the mic.
NOTE My EnableInputMonitor was already set at value 01 so urs might be too.

Would anyone be able to come on teamviewer long as they have decent rep or trusted or type a small tutorial if you are able on here or dylan's thread so could stream music once again.
