Fairly new to casting.
Current setup:
SuperWebcam
FME 2.5
Quality and stream are fine. (I think, you tell me)
What I would like is a bot that would respond to commands such as !nowplaying, !nextplaying, etc.
I've looked into a few things, such as mircscripts.com and such, but apparently I'm too newb to properly disseminate any of it.
Any pointers or tips? Also, if I'm off base or asking things that shouldn't be asked, feel free to tell me to stfu.
Thanks!

For commands Like that you will have to make your own bot. This can be difficult, and complicated. You will have to learn how to script ect.
To make a bot, you need to have a program called m IRC, and be white listed on JTV to access the chat servers.

Some good Bots at the moment:

Robro (Need Permission of Owner): www.justin.tv/gog33ks
Moobot: http://www.justin.tv/moobot/profile
nxbot (Need Permission of Owner): www.justin.tv/nxarmada

I would like to be able to use a bot to inform certain people of how they can access password protected content. Thanks!

To Personalize a bot you need to make your own, to do this download a program call mIRC. Once you have download mIRC, you need your JTV username, whitelisted, ****Link Removed****. Once you have done that you can start scripting. Learning to script is up to you, we can't help you on that. However for advise, this channel can help. ****Link Removed****

Actually, what I think friendlyfirefly is trying to get at is making a bot that distributes channel access codes to people.
Due to the switch to the new meebo IM system, this wouldn't be possible to do by an IRC bot. Meebo doesn't have a backend system that connects to the normal IRC workings. Which means, basically, bots can't see IMs anymore. (Unless both the user and bot are using an IRC client which isn't always the case, plus that feature could be removed at any time)
What broadcasters normally do in distributing these access codes is by other services such as twitter, facebook, myspace, text message, etc. Or even the Justin.TV bulletin system. The point to using access codes is for times when the broadcaster doesn't want the public to view the stream, only friends/family/coworkers that they personally know. *Also a side note: Private streams can still be taken down for illegal or terms of service breaking content, so don't think you can show everything in private mode.

Well good luck in creating a cool bot. I always thoughts bots could be so much and bring so much to the channels.
