Hello Everyone!
I have some news to announce concerning the IRC Server, and connecting to the server using clients such as mIRC (http://www.mirc.com/) or Colloquy (http://colloquy.info/).
Anyone can now connect to the IRC Server using a client! The whitelist was disabled.
Also, you no longer have to look up a Server IP from a chatroom to see which server it is on.
You can access a channel by connecting to the Server IP: channelname.jtvirc.com
So for example: If you wanted to connect to the chatroom "test" you would connect to this server: test.jtvirc.com
The old server system is still in place though- so if you already know what servers the channels are on, that will work.
Finally, there is a cap of five channels you can be in at one time.
If you have any questions please feel free to post below!
