Locking a thread means that no one can reply to the topic. Threads can be locked by a moderator for a number of reasons. For example, if no more discussion is needed if a question has been answered. It keeps things organized this way so that people don't go off topic.

ya, i think tho that some topics are closed earlier than they should be, preventing any type of discussion or even for the topic creator to help them someone who may post in it asking a question. but i guess thats the mods choice :cool:

Generally when the question has been answered, there is no need for further discussion.
