Okay, new problem.

How do I get my mic to work? No playback at all, I'm not sure if it's even picking it up.

Configured it in Windows Vista again, works fine otherwise.

Edit: So I think I know what the problem is.

I need to get my microphone to play through my speakers, that way the recording will pick it up. But there is no microphone option in the speaker settings.

Vista is so goddamn frustrating. Anyone have a solution?

You might want to try setting your audio to "Stereo mixer"

i can say that the stereo mix is the best option

Xsplit automatically captures audio, should just need to set your output to microphone, not steroe mix.

That would be true if he was just using his mic alone, bonkerz1

But if he was trying to capture other sounds, ie.. mic, music or a game card at the same time, best bet would be to use the stereo mix

Also note that if your going to run "music" you might face a T.O.S violation if you aren't the original music owner

In Xsplit, next to the microphone symbol, there is one that looks like the Windows Vista/7 volume control just without the 'sound lines' coming out of it. That's Xsplits 'Windows Sounds' mic. It doesn't use Stereo Mix.

xsplit for me is set to microphone, and it captures every sound just fine.
