Not sure if anyone here has heard of Google Latitude, it's basically a bridge between Google Maps and your GPS chipset in your cellphone. It lets you plot out your location live on a map (and other friends can plot out their location too) so you can know where everyone is.
I thought this would be a cool thing to put on my roadcasting channel (since people often ask "where are you"), but Google only provides code that makes use of iframes (which aren't allowed on Justin.tv).
Sorry if this is not be the best place to make suggestions, but I think allowing iframes from "safe" URLs (like google maps) would be a good compromise between security and usability.

The problem with that is finding peoples location.
Back awhile ago JTV would display the local time of the broadcaster below the video, but that was removed because you can then locate their general location via their time zone.
Peoples privacy is one of JTV's priorities!

I quite liked the local timezones below the video window, after all. It don't actually pin point the exact location you are in, just the City so it really was not a big deal that one with privacy..

Hi,
I just wondered which ways people use to get the L & L of places when they use Google Maps?
I have tried with the postcode but it is slightly off so it will need to move over to the right?
Thanks
Nick

The Latitude will always be at least but no more than 2 miles inaccurate. It is just like using the Geo Locator add on with that skype, i have tried it. It should have read Royal Ave "half a mile away" as my nearest wi fi hotspot, but it reads Botanic Park "2 miles away" as my nearest hotspot. You don't want it to be pinpointed accurate anyway. For privacy reasons

I think if you make it available as an option then each broadcaster can decide if they would like to use it or not. It would be up to their preferences on privacy.
Always good to have options imho.
