Meebo and IM... What now?

Ok, so I believe we all know about Meebo being bought out by Google and the meebo messenger will be discontinued as of 11th July. What exactly does that mean for Jtv with respects to the IM service? :eek:

Thanks for such a quick response. I did see that but I was thrown off by the removal off the messenger and not being able to access chat logs and all that. It made me wonder if the bar would still include means of chat. I don't know much about the stuff. Lol!

k. so the meebo bar wont dissappear but will i still be abse to log in to a site to communicate with followers for me and my bot without having a gazillion browser windows open? i really need to know whoro to access the main messenger

The way I read it, the main Meebo messenger is going away. You won't be able to access it.

I spoke with one of our founders about this. We shouldn't be seeing any change on Justin.tv associated with Google buying Meebo at this time.

i hate to bring up an old thread, but why followers that i follow not reappearing in meebo? id like te be able to chat with them. will jtv irc chat possibly add a Direct chat live dcc or private messages in irc. maybe there could be a third tab under the users list for privately messaging the viewers in my room?

jtv is having problems with the following system. i have the same problem when i follow someone and a user follows me back, it doesn't show on the follow page.
