"Recommended Videos and More" filter???

Hey gang,

I can appreciate the idea of sharing other clips on JTV, but why do I have to have underage girls and "The Cleavage Club" muckin' up my channel? Can we get some sort of filter for the recommended videos?

From what I have heard The JTV team is working alongside Taboola developers to remove feeds that have violated the TOS from "Recommended Videos and More" section. As stated by JTV's community guidelines, they in no way support nudity, and the feeds listed with such content are banned on sight by the Administration team.

Thanks for the reply, but these aren't TOS vilolators. Just the unfortunate average fare that's out there.

Since the channel broadcaster can actually see the thumbnails, maybe if we had some way to filter them by user name we could at least better the odds that the randomization would show casts that are more related by content/subject rather than just by category? Another solution is to let us pick our own recommendations. :cool:

If you're disturbed by seeing beautiful women in media, as a temporary fix, you can always set up ABP to block the Taboola elements on a page. Of course, this doesn't solve the problem of your viewers seeing those elements.

Just remember, that on any site on the internet, you're going to exposed to advertising that most likely will contain some references to beauty and sex, as it's a common theme in ads that try to appeal to men.

The best way to avoid all this? Become a luddite and move in with some Quakers.

Thanks for your reply, but I don't recall saying anything about being luddite-like or against beautiful women. That's a completely irrelevant subject. This Taboola element is not an ad. It's not selling anything. It's recommending other JustinTV channels, period.

Since it's not an ad for gain, why not have an opt-out option or the ability for the channel owner to suggest hand picked channels? We have the ability to customize the look of our channels and having unrelated content (sexual or otherwise) on the page is nothing more than a useless eye sore.

If someone visits your channel, follows you, etc., wouldn't it make more sense to link out to similar channels?

I wasn't in the best of moods when I replied, I have to admit Apologies.

At the very least the site should changing the wording of "Recommended Videos and More" to something like "Videos Recommended by Justin.tv" so that it's clear that this is not content created by the caster. Another way to handle it would be to put a small "advertisement" text below the element so that it's clear to a viewer that this content is advertising presented by JTV.
