Exclamation Android App Disconnects After About 30 Seconds.....

I LOVE the idea of taking my Lifecast viewers out on MOBILE Lifecasting excursions every once in awhile with my Android & would love NOTHING MORE than to use JTV to do it BUT I'm having a MAJOR problem with the JTV Android App.....

I can't stay connected for no more than THIRTY SECONDS (If even that long) before the stream cuts off

I have my login info entered correctly (I've already verified this) however I don't have the app on an SD Card of my new Samsung Exhibit II from T-Mobile (Because I currently don't have one). Does the phone need to have an SD Card in order for the app to work properly? No biggie as I plan to get an SD Card anyway (I'm just wondering in case that's why I keep getting disconnected whenever I try to use it)

If the lack of an SD Card IS NOT the problem, then I really do need help as I'm stumped as to why it works on my old Samsung Vitality (Which is a 3G phone from Cricket) & not on the newer Samsung Exhibit II 4G phone from T-Mobile

Anyone have an answer?

Cheers

hi, the android app is not being developed actively in a long (in software/hardware terms) time, for sure from older android versions, that is why is working on your old phone but no in the new one

PS : i believe since december 2010

I really wish JTV would get back into developing mobile apps again. Sad to see they've gotten away from this while BlogTV & others continue theirs

In the meantime.....Any idea as to where I might find an older version that I can install instead?

Cheers

for the app, android market as usual
but, and this is just me guessing with no technical knowledge about android, the issue is the newest androids (don't think you want to downgrade your os version ? ) and also maybe phones firmware

jtv keeps developing mobile ppas but just for iphone/ipods/ipads , there is out there too many variations of os and devices (firmwares, screen reslutions, etc) in the android side to keep with that i guess

Its not even a matter of software alone. Software for all Android devices is increasingly difficult, and costly as more and more variations of Android devices appear with different sizes and hardware. Most likely if your phone is from late 2011 or 2012 the JTV Broadcaster App will not work for you as it was never designed for Ice Cream Sandwich.

My version of Android is 2.3.6 (I'm guessing this would be Android Gingerbread) with the latest firmware installed (The Samsung Exhibit II is also Flash enabled too)

As for JTV's unwillingness to develop for Android, this is sad indeed as we outnumber iOS users by AT LEAST a 3 to 1 margin. Too bad JTV doesn't see this

Ohh well.....Glad I have BlogTV to turn to for mobile lifecasting (At least I can make more friends there & tell them where they can find me when I'm at home ). If BlogTV doesn't work out, there's always UStream (I've never had a problem with their broadcaster/viewer combo app since they rolled it out)

Cheers (Kinda sorta?)

While you're right there are a lot of Android users, issue is they don't all use the exact same device like iOS users. So while there are more users it also take all the more resources to develop the app. It must have far outweighed the benefits of it if they decided to stop developing it. Sorry to disappoint.
