I've recently encountered issues connecting to stream chats via mIRC. I've been successfully connecting to them with IRC for the past couple of months but yesterday I began getting an "Unable to connect (Connection timed out)" message from the server status window. I use a script in the "Remote" tab that looks like this:
Code:
on *:start:{
server -m mylittlegoobi.jtvirc.com 6667 [password] -i mylittlegoobi -j #[channelnames]
}
When I googled the issue I came across this thread: http://community.justin.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=8289 This is exactly the problem I am having. I first tried to do all of these "fixes" that people were trying to post about, with no success. I am guessing that since administrators pushed a "fix", it is not a problem with my script but a problem with the server itself. Help would be greatly appreciated! |

i am using the same script that you are using to conenect and it is working fine for me, so is not somehting that changed at the jtv irc server side
plus that message most likely is telling that you have trouble reaching the server i see that message when also the same chat takes a long time to connect using the web chat, can you load the same chats using a browser in a short time or you also see the spinning circle there? tell us one chat where this is happening for you (maybe that chat is on a server that also has channels with a ton of viewers then is a load issue) |

I have no issues connecting to peoples' chats using a browser. They load pretty quickly. I've been using the chats in a browser because the script doesn't work. Even chats that have thousands of viewers load quickly for me using the browser. I have tried using the script to connect only to my own stream chat and it still does not work.
I saw in the thread from last year that dylanlive made the update when they worked on a "fix". Do you think he may know what the potential issue is? |
