Why are people getting DMCA shut down notices with no mention of the copyright holder? I thought supping whom the copyright holder is was a requirement via email explaining why the channel was shut down. I've talked to several casters that have received a generic DMCA shut notice. How is some one supposed to now whom the supposed copyright holder so as not to violate this again. How is someone supposed to counter claim this when no copyright holder is mentioned? Couple of these caster are social caster and I have instructed them to fight it!
You need to proved whom the copyright holder is or the channel shut down is null! For all we now you filter system has gone rouge. Which would not surprise me seeing how the site has been since March of this year. |

Yes I well aware of Vobile Content Filter, but it is still supposed to identify the Copyright holder the channel was flagged for. Not give a Blank Copyright Holder in the email. How is one supposed fight a generic DMCA shut down?
Back before Djangle caster would get a email of whom what copyright holder they violated if the Content Filter Vobile did flag channel. Personally I feel a Blank Copyright info could be the Bot just flagged it cause of a glitch. Case in point is 2 Lifecaster that were shut down. What were they doing that the bot thought it was owned by someone?? Is wearing a Fox T-Shirt gona get a channel shut down?? Hey keep up the good work, viewers are leaving every week and Lifecasting and Gaming will not bring in the Ad Revenue! Maybe approach the Industry with a suggestion that helps both sides instead of bowing to them. Something like a broadcaster pro account that 80% of the subscription dollars goes to Copyright Holders in Hollywood. |

If you have tried and didn't get a response (He may miss a few emails as he is extremely busy), PLEASE PM me the issue, I promise I will do my best to get you a favourable resolution. JTV does care about its members. They have been experiencing an influx of issues lately due to this being a period of transition with the still young Twitch.TV and the Django Upgrade, on their behalf, I apologize. I know for a fact they want people to know members matter, they can't fix everything instantiously, as I'm sure you can understand, but hopefully the site can get back to the point in which the maximum number of users are happy again (Which has always been the goal). On their behalf again, I thank you for sticking with JTV during this time of transition, and hope you will continue to use the services and will come to once again enjoy it. |

Whaaa whaaa whaaa another whinny caster who shows content that they don't own the copyrights to and gets shut down.
That's all you do dude is whine like you have a right to show content that you don't have permission to show. Cry me a f**kin' river. You show CNN... are you Ted M*ther F**kin' Turner? Didn't think so. Why are you rocking the boat so much? Nothing is going to change. If JTV doesn't respond accordingly and in a timely manner to DMCA takedown notices it opens them up to copyright infringement lawsuits. We all know they are hiding behind and profiting from the DMCA. IT'S BEEN THAT WAY FOR YEARS AND NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE until some new legislation get passed. I do agree that they should provide the copyright holders information within the email notification but Mike..... you're showing CNN and Fox News.... YOU KNOW WHO SUBMITTED THE TAKEDOWN NOTICE. What were you going to do? Submit a counter notification and fight it? I would love to see that. As for the social casters that have had their channels banned for DMCA... to my knowledge from talking with some of the parties involved it is Warner Bros Records that is doing that. IT IS THEIR CONTENT THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT. And why wouldn't they? JTV makes their money off of their content and cannot be held accountable for it as long as they abide by the guidelines set forth within the DMCA. So, until you stop showing their rightful content and start producing your own you have NO case. Now, don't get me wrong. I have shown thousands upon thousands of hours of content that I did not own the rights to and I have no problem continuing to do that BUT.... I know the risk and I know I have ZERO recourse if my channels get closed for copyright infringement. IT'S PART OF THE GAME. In conclusion... Mike, grow some balls, stop acting like a whinny little spoiled child, drop the victim act, and stfu. Sincerely, Dream Crusher
