Default Streaming Issues with FME

Hey guys i've searched forums but I haven't encountered anything with a solution to my problem so here it goes.

I was streaming normally with Jtv with no problem but a bit of lag issues. So I figure to make it better i'll use FME. I tried FME 2.5 and it has nice resolution but a lot of lag. I've tried every possible option in FME, even if I degrade FME to the lowest possible quality or the highest FPS or the lowest FPS, no matter what I do, the stream skips wayyy too much.

I have an AVer Hybrid capture card. And I use VHScrCap to capture the video. The video runs smoothly on MY screen.
My Computer is brand spanking new (3.33 ghz of the newest intel Processor), and 12 GB of RAM.

My Internet has about 760 Kbps of Upload. Which I doubt is a problem because i've casted before with less skips on 300 kbps.

The only SOLUTION I have seen is rather odd.

If I have the FME window open while casting and either I keep MOVING the FME window or if I keep CLICKING inside if it, it causes it to somehow "refresh" or something and the stream becomes perfect. But if I leave it alone it goes back to skipping.

Anyone have ANY idea what I can do to fix this?

*EDIT*

I also forgot to add that I can't even resort back to using JTV like normal because now the website doesn't even detect VHScrCap. I'm not somehow FORCED to use FME.

If you are talking about seeing a bit of some lag when watching your own channel on your streaming pc, I wouldn't worry about that and find out what your viewers are seeing and go more by that.

I have .65 upload and I have streamed with both 2.5 and 3.0 and when watching my own stream it can be a bit laggy but my viewers all say it is smooth on their pc and its what they see that matters.

So if thats what you are talking about seeing then I wouldn't worry too much because you are uploading and downloading the stream at the same time and there is a delay from it going to and back from Justin.tv so that may be causing an issue.

I would also suggest to set your stream at 500kbps to help feed your resolution (350 is on the low side) unless you are streaming a very low resolution and you don't say what FPS you have FME set at but 25-30 is about all you really need to use, any higher is overkill as going higher doesn't really improve the video quality very much but it does use your pc's resources and your internet bandwidth.

If the lag you are talking about seeing is on the screens in FME then your input or output resolution in FME 2.5 is likely set too high, try testing with lowering your resolutions slightly.

Hey thanks for the reply!

But i've had several users go in and test for me and they see basically what I see. And they even tested my theory to be true. Which is if I keep moving or clicking the FME window then suddenly the stream stays perfect.

I keep my bitrate at 500 kbps and I have my frames at 25-30 also.

Resolution size is small also so thats why im really confused as to WHY its still lagging.

i've tried both FME 2.5 and 3.0 and its pretty much the same result...

So I have a feeling its the ACTUAL FME program thats causing the lag? Because it resumes like normal if I just keep that window busy.

It makes no sense.

Have you tried doing the batch file method to run FME? If not, here is the link to it, http://community.justin.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=1298. I don't notice it due to my PC's abilities, but supposedly it runs a bit leaner with it.

You are not the only one with this issue.

I reformatted my PC a while ago and then had to re-download FME 2.5. After I did that I noticed "LAG" on my stream video. Other viewers also noticed this "LAG" as well. They also told me the video quality was blurry, but that could be a totally different issue.

Thanks dude. I'm gonna try this out when I get a chance. If it doesn't work i'll open this back up for more discussion.
