When I stream on JUSTIN TV using Hava HD Wireless, FME 2.5 and VHSCRP I noticed some issues.
First issue: I noticed some "LAG" when I stream live over the internet. I am not the only one as other people notice it as well. It is not real bad "LAG" but you can see it is there. It will be running fine, then it will freeze up for less then a second, then continue on, it will do this the whole time I am streaming. That is the best I can describe it. Second issue: I noticed that in my HAVA player and my FME 2.5 input and output that the picture is clear as can be. But when I look at it on the Justin TV, it is rather blurry compared to the HAVA player and FME 2.5.. I think my PC is well capable of streaming decent quality. It is an 2000 dollars Alienware that I bought back in 2008 after all. My stream setup is this Resolution: 240x180 - I have it set to this because when I use any other resolution, it does not fill up the justin TV stream box.. FPS: I used to have it at 60 FPS and it is now 30. I found out that if you put it on 60 FPS it wont even reach 60 FPS, it always is stuck on 30 FPS.... I have this set on both FME and VHSCRP. Bit rate is at 350.... I can't seem to find anywhere on the internet how to improve the quality of my stream... Last edited by ObscuredUSA; 02-19-2010 at 10:19 PM. |

The reason for all the blur is because of the extremely low resolution of 240x180. What is your actual upload speed, http://www.speedtest.net/. You will be able to get a crisper image if you have room to up the bitrate and ESPECIALLY your resolution. I use the Hava but mine is wired. Hope to hear a response from you.

If your computer can handle it, try broadcasting at 640x360, this is one of the best Standard Def resolutions and perfectly fits the video window.
Also like the above poster said, do a bandwidth test as well. Testing that will tell you if you can broadcast at a higher bitrate which will help with the video issues and make your broadcast smoother. Also make sure your VHScrnCap settings are using only what is needed to broadcast. Another recommendation is, if your computer can handle it without maxing out the CPU, try broadcasting with H.264. It will take up a bit more CPU but looks alot crisper and smoother than VP6

It is not the best internet but it is decent. I always thought the lower the resolution the better the picture would be.. Hehe.. |

Nah higher res is way better. Since you have a .93 upload, depending on other PC's on the same network and if you are playing online games or single player games, you can likely boost the upload to a total of 600-700. If you play online, you'll want it lower but with a total of 600-700 you'll get a pretty decent stream at the resolution that MajiShine stated of 640x360. After you play with it though, you'll get a feel for what is best for your situatio, including the resolution that your internet can handle.

I increased my resolution to 640X360 and the stream still looks blurry on the justin tv stream page.
But it looks real clear in FME 2.5 and when I visit my website that I have a the embedded stream player it also looks clear.. Stream still lags a little but not as much.. |
