I see a bunch of pages about IRC and yet it appears I have to be added to a non-existant whitelist?

Why is this?

The web chat pales in comparison to a real chat client. The history is maybe 200 lines irrespective of rate of how many people speak. There is no logging. There's an API for stuff but it has no ability to interact with chat.

As a result, if I go to the bathroom I can't even read the chat where I left off.

Is there any other way to access the chat besides the webchat?

the whitelist was discontinued maybe a year ago , besides the regular chat using the site the only other thing i know is the vaughn's client , http://vaughn.vg/vx51/ , you can try that one , i use it when for some reason the web chat fails but irc still works
