Is there anyway to track or list a channels viewership over time? This would be good for tracking peek viewership times and collecting data for sponsorship.
Thanks. |

If you are looking for some jtv feature , they don't have that.
I don't know a simple and automated way to keep track of viewers , if you know something about mirc you could code a script for a bot that checks ( reading the source code of the channel using socks ) that every "x" time and save that in some file ( of course you have to have that mirc user in the channel 24/7 ) A simpler way i personally use not for viewers but for amount of lines in the chat is checking the logs of a mirc user ( no need of a bot with scripts there , just a user using mirc and saving the logs ) there and then with a software that generate a report of that you can see when the channel is more active ( again , no the viewers number , but lines of chat ) , that means day of the week , hours , etc ; google "mircstats" you will see examples of that kind of reports also vaughn has some feature for channels stats http://community.justin.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=4069 , no that complete as mircstats , just remember all these ways start saving data when you enabled that , no from the past times |

Code:
tracking from within JTV is quite difficult and its limited to staff/developers. the best that can be done to track viewership is to use flash embedded tracking tools in the "About Me" section of your channel, similar to: http://www.revolvermaps.com/ |

Wow! I didn't think it would take that much to record viewership. Doesn't the Justin.tv servers keep some type of log / record of what ip is accessing what stream? Could something like a log file be accessed to create a list? Thanks |
