I've seen many instances where the "What U Hear" mode isn't working, etc etc. but I haven't seen a thread for my issue (hence the new thread)
Anyway, I'm running FME 3.1 with my Hauppauge, SCFH DSF and my sound card (Creative SB X-Fi). I got the audio working last night, but it seems to "echo" after the fact that I move away from the sound source (Windows XP by the way) Example - http://justin.tv/severedsoul_x/b/282140141 I have played with the audio levels and I still get the echo, that or no sound at all. If you have any ideas, please feel free to let me know. Also I have updated the sound card to it's newest driver. |

Are you using a microphone so you can talk while playing?
If you are then you need to use headphones for listening and shut off the volume of your external speakers as the mic will pick the speakers up and cause a echo and or feedback loop. |

No microphone. Right now I have no speakers or anything connected to my desktop as well

If that doesn't work, try fiddling with the audio settings. Something's askew somewhere. BTW, I'd GIVE ANYTHING for a sound card with "What U Hear" functionality for my laptop. Is that SoundBlaster X-Fi an internal card or an external USB card? (I have the X-Fi Go Pro!) Cheers |

Ok I put some headphones into the jack and still no luck. The computer had on-board audio and then the sound card added later on. I have the on-board disabled and just have the sound card enabled and it's still doing it - and yes it's an internal card
Would using FME 2.5 possibly help? Or even using X-Split? Or do you think it's something hardware wise |

Do you have VAC installed, it can cause echoing?

No I don't have VAC installed. I read that if you have What U Hear, you don't need VAC

If you aren't mixing a mic with a game sound, etc. then there is no reason to use 'What U Hear' or 'Stereo Mix' for your audio source, if you are inporting only a console game sound or DVR sound and use 'Line in' or 'Mic' then that is what you want to use for your audio source on your broadcaster. |

Ok I tried both microphone and line-in and I'm getting no audio...I even turned up all 3 volume sliders (wrench volume, FME volume and system volume) and still nothing...

I went through every option and the only two that even played audio were
What U Hear (echoes and gets softer each time) Wave (echoes and gets softer each time) Obviously something is pinging off itself causing this echo...maybe this will help things - maybe it'll complicate it. I will probably not use a microphone in a broadcast (kind of low on money now |
