From the channel tab you can control your Channel info, Chat, Design and how you promote your channel.

Channel Info

Below are all the controls in your channel info:

• Channel Title: If you want a different title for your channel other than your username, you can set it here.
• About Me: Use this space to elaborate on your channel description. Flash and HTML are acceptable. Javascript and frames will be removed.
• Category: This dropdown box is the directory category that you wish for your channel to show up in.
• Subcategory: Some categories have subcategories, here you can further separate your channel on the directory from other channels.
• Tags: Tags are one word descriptors that talk about what kind of broadcast a user can find on your channel, these tags help to better identify your channel through search
• Channel Language: You can select what language your channel is broadcasted in, to help people better find channels in the language they speak.
• Mature Content: If you think your channel will contain material that could offend some audiences you should probably click this. Remember, sexual activity, Nudity, Threats or Extreme violence are never allowed on Justin.tv, making your channel mature does not mean it is okay to broadcast this material.
• iCal URL: If you have your own iCal feed, you can update your channels events through there.
• Access Code: If you are a broadcaster above the age of 18, you can add an access code to make your channel private. Remember, sexual activity, Nudity, Threats or Extreme violence are never allowed on Justin.tv, making your channel private does not mean it is okay to broadcast this material. Also, if you are under 18, due to security reasons, private channels are not available to you.
• Don't allow my channel to be embedded: Selecting this option turns off the ability for others (even yourself) to embed your video on other websites.
• Forbid viewers from creating highlights: Selecting this option turns off the ability for viewers to create clips (or highlights) of your channel.
• Forbid viewers from sending highlights and episodes to YouTube: Selecting this option turns off the ability for viewers to share clips of your channel to YouTube.
• Remove my channel from the directory: Selecting this option removes your channel from the directories.

Chat

• Welcome Message: You can create a welcome message (of a maximum of 140 characters) for all users who enter your chat room.
• Banned Words: You can select to have specific words banned (and show up as ***'s) in your chat. Separate words with spaces. Words may only contain letters and numbers.
• Block the most commonly banned words from around the network: Selecting this option will automatically ban the most commonly banned words from your chat.
• Do not show links in my chat: Selecting this option will automatically ban links from webchat.
• Banned Chatters: This is a list of all users who have been banned from your chat, clicking the more link will show you which moderator banned that user and when. Type /unban username in your chat room to unban a user.

Changing your Channel Design

You can give your channel spice by adding colours, a background, images or even a header. Just follow these instructions:

Changing Page Colors

1. Click settings
2. Select the Channel tab.
3. Select the Design tab.
4. Change colors by either using the color picker (clicking on the color boxes to the left of the text box) or by putting in the hexadecimal color code in the text box.
5. Click Save Changes to save the current changes to your channel.

Custom Headers

You can upload your own custom header, remember we resize all header images to 950px wide and crop images taller than 400px and all images must be less than 3 MB in size.

1. Click settings
2. Select the Channel tab.
3. Select the Design tab.
4. Click the Browse button to locate a .png, .gif or .jpg file on your computer.
5. Click Upload and Save to place this header on the top of your channel.
6. Click Save Changes to save the current changes to your channel.

Background Images

You can upload any picture (of less than 3 MB in size) as your background simply follow these instructions.

1. Click settings
2. Select the Channel tab.
3. Select the Design tab.
4. Click the Browse button to locate a .png, .gif or .jpg file on your computer.
5. Click Upload and Save to place this header on the top of your channel.
6. If you want a a tiled background leave the Don't Repeat box unchecked. Click this box if you have a solid background that you don't want tiled.
7. Click Save Changes to save the current changes to your channel.

Reset design

Checking this box and hitting submit will clear your changes and revert back to the default design. Be aware, this cannot be undone!

Channel Promotion

From the Promotion tab you push updates to various social networking sites.

• Twitter: Put in your username and password to push status updates to your followers.
• Myspace: Just add your Login/password to send MySpace status updates to your friends.
• Post to MySpace when I go live: Selecting this option will post to your MySpace status every time you go live.
• Custom Message: You can input a custom message to be pushed as a status message or leave it blank for the default (we'll attach your channel link at the end of the message).
